national service - a formal program (funded privately, by government, or both) in which people of different ages work for nominal pay for several months or up to two years to build stronger communities in the United States and abroad in partnership with nonprofit organizations.

rule of law - the principle that a democratic form of government is based on a set of laws applied equally to all citizens including public officials.

social entrepreneur - An individual who pursues large scale social change through innovative, sustainable, and systemic approaches that benefit society as a whole, with an emphasis on those who are disadvantaged.
