Wendy Bay Lewis
Founder, CivicDictionary.com

Wendy Bay Lewis is a lawyer, community leader, and Adjunct Faculty at Montana State University.

She is currently writing the book version of this website.

The forerunner to CivicDictionary.com, called CivicMind.com--Open Your Civic Mind, was launched in 1997.

Between 1999 and 2006, she generated sixty-five CivicMind Awards in recognition of organizations focused on civic involvement and community service.



Faculty


Nonprofit Leadership

  • Development Director - Bozeman Public Library Foundation - Raised $7 million in private capital campaign for state-of-the-art, green public library in rural Montana.

  • Consultant - Montana Commission on Community Service - Created and wrote the first State of the State Report profiling national service programs statewide.

  • Consultant - Montana Secretary of State, Young Voters' Project.

  • Consultant - law-related education - American Bar Association and the Arizona State Bar.

  • Executive Director - Montana Center for International Visitors - provided democracy training to NGO leaders from around the world and launched one of the first web sites linking schools in different countries. Founded partnership with Conciencia, a leading democracy organization in Argentina.

  • Board of Directors - Planned Parenthood of Central and Northern Arizona

  • Legal Counsel - Valley Task Force on Central American Refugees, Phoenix, Arizona
